Clean Lakes Alliance will be headed outside the city to visit one of our agricultural neighbors. In the return of our popular Farm Tour, we visit Kevin Oppermann's family farm where he implements rotational-grazing techniques, converting cropland to permanent pasture in an effort to sustainably raise his Scottish Highland cattle.
Clean Lakes Alliance Farm Tours demonstrate effective conservation practices that, when implemented, help to protect soil and water quality across Dane County. Attendees will gain a better understanding of innovative land management practices.
Highland Spring Farm is a pasture-based farm, located in Oregon. The farm was founded in 2012 and raises grass-fed Scottish Highland beef cattle, and pastured chickens and pigs. The farm is located southwest of Lake Waubesa, near the Waubesa Wetlands State Natural Area.
