Name: UW Madison Family Gardening Day
Date: May 6, 2017
Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM CDT
Event Description:
Spring is here, and it’s time to get growing! Gardeners of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join us on the UW Madison campus for inspiration, information, or simply a good time! This event is designed to cater to all age groups.

For kids: Assembling tiny terrariums at Steenbock Library, examining insects under microscopes at D.C. Smith Greenhouse, learning about cool research at the UW Biotron, and constructing unconventional flower arrangements are among the activities geared toward kids (as well as more youthful adults).

For all ages: All visitors are welcome to stroll through Allen Centennial Garden and find inspiration for their home gardens. UW Extension experts, faculty, and a host of Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions, run demonstrations and provide gardening advice to visitors. Pasta Four-Packs—sets of tomato, oregano, basil and pepper plants—will be distributed while supplies last! We also encourage you to check out Steenbock Library’s impressive collection on gardening, cooking, food preservation, and urban agriculture. A great way to finish your trip is stopping for ice cream at the famous Babcock Dairy Store!
Location:
Allen Centennial Garden at 620 Babcock Drive; Steenbock Memorial Library at 550 Babcock Drive; and the D.C. Smith Instructional Greenhouse at 465 Babcock Drive. All are located within two blocks of each other.

Free parking is available in Lot 34 at 1480 Tripp Circle; in Lot 36 just west of Steenbock Library; and in Lot 40 behind Babcock Hall.
