SUMMARY:Fall Gallery Night
DESCRIPTION:This year's Fall Gallery Night includes an exhibit of paintings by visually impaired Wisconsin artist Albert Schmiege who has been legally blind since 1992 due to macular degeneration. Despite having no central vision\, poor depth perception and color blindness\, Albert has been able\, through imagination and inspiration\, to capture on canvas his interpretation of the world.\n\n\n\nAlbert wil give a gallery talk at 6:15 p.m. as part of this opening artist's reception. He is generously donating 20% of all sales of his art to the Council to support the programs and services we provide for Wisconsin residents who are blind or visually impaired.\n\n\n\nThe evening also includes musical performances by Madison harpist Amanda Basich Kron and The Kat Trio (artists-in-residence with WI Public Radio and The Chazen Museum of Art).\n\n\n\nHelp the Council celebrate 60 years of expanding visual horizons!
