  • About

The Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin (WDBSCW) is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that collaborates with businesses and workforce in the Wisconsin counties of Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Jefferson, Marquette and Sauk.

The WDBSCW (under Dane County Private Industry Council) was formed in 1983 to discover and develop effective workforce solutions to prepare local workers and businesses to be successful in an increasingly competitive global market. Since that time, we’ve become a national leader in our ability to form strategic partnerships that result in ground-breaking solutions to workforce development challenges. Today, we continue to strive for innovation in everything we do to ensure a healthy economy for the South Central Wisconsin counties of Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Jefferson, Marquette and Sauk.

We are governed by a Board of Directors drawn from the ranks of business, labor, community colleges, community-based organizations, and the public workforce system.

One of the primary responsibilities of the Workforce Development Board is the administration of workforce development initiatives and programs funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Through our work, we’ve become a national leader in our ability to form strategic partnerships that result in ground-breaking solutions to workforce development challenges. Today, we continue to strive for innovation in everything we do to ensure a healthy economy for Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Jefferson, Marquette and Sauk Counties.
